Following the announcement of the New Electric Vehicle (NEV) levy in the 2025-26 federal budget, major motorcycle manufacturers have raised their prices.
Yamaha and Unique have both announced revised prices for their motorcycle lineups, which have already taken effect.
Yamaha’s new prices came into force on July 1, while Unique’s price hike is effective from July 18, 2025.
Yamaha prices revised after NEV Levy
- YB 125Z (Red/Black): Rs 429,000, which includes Rs 65,441 in sales tax and Rs 4,057 as NEV levy.
- YB 125Z DX (Red/Black/Grey): Rs 459,500
- YBR 125 (Red/Grey/Black): Rs 471,500
- YBR 125G (Black): Rs 490,500
- YBR 125G (Matte Finish): Rs 493,500 — currently the most expensive in Yamaha’s lineup
Unique motorcycles: Price hike of up to Rs 3,000
Following Yamaha, Unique has also raised prices across its UD-70cc range by up to Rs 3,000:
- UD 70cc Base Model: Rs 121,500
- UD 70cc Extreme Plus: Rs 125,000
- Special Edition: Rs 128,500
- Extreme Plus with Alloy Rims: Rs 135,000
- Self-Start Variant: Rs 147,000 — the most expensive in the series.
