Of the Cowboys’ five Pro Bowl selections announced on Tuesday, Tyler Smith’s situation is unique, to be sure. He was named one of the game’s best guards for the third year in a row… just a day after learning the team wants him to play a different position for their final two contests. Smith has now said more about the switch, including stating a clear preference for the role that’s earned him coveted All-Pro status. He reiterates he’ll do what he can to help the team down the stretch, but could it be a preview of a permanent move that’s been in the works? There’s a report from inside the building suggesting that Smith’s contract already has provisions to address a positional change.
Ryan Flournoy’s status took a turn in the wrong direction on Tuesday, as the receiver’s knee kept him out of practice… and could now keep him out of Thursday’s game. He’s not the only one who took some fire in last week’s loss; center Cooper Beebe found himself ripping the Chargers social media team over a “mic’d up” segment. Beebe felt the video intimated that he used a slur (bleeped-out in the clip) against L.A. linebacker Daiyan Henley during Sunday’s game. Beebe shared his version of what he actually said and included a few choice words for the organization. The Chargers deleted their original post; Beebe’s reply is now gone, too.

But hey, the Cowboys will put together a never-before-used uniform combination for the Christmas Day audience on Netflix!
The Commanders still have a quarterback quandary to figure out for Thursday, but the pendulum may have swung too far on injured starter Jayden Daniels. Those fans who have already dubbed him the next Robert Griffin III (that’s not a good thing) may be writing him off too early. Washington has brought in former Pro Bowl return man Jamal Agnew to take over for the shelved Jaylin Lane, and if the Cowboys defense can force a fourth down in Week 17, they’ll have to contend with Tress Way, who was just named the NFC’s punter for this year’s Pro Bowl.
Meanwhile, the last two weeks may have produced disappointing results for the Cowboys, but it’s been good news for their 2026 draft slot. Dallas currently sits 13th and 21st in the first round. The Packers are trying to make sure that second selection comes later, as Jordan Love is working hard to return from concussion protocol. And what’s it like to lose all the time? Like, literally almost all the time? Giants linebacker Brian Burns offers a sobering perspective on maintaining a positive attitude and professional edge despite going 29-86 as a pro.
