WWE legend Matt Hardy said that a former Champion should win the AEW World title again. Matt also praised the star’s storytelling abilities in the ring.

5-time Champion, Kenny Omega should be the AEW World Champion again, according to Matt Hardy. During his tenure in All Elite Wrestling since 2019, Omega has been a former World Tag Team, Trios, and International Champion. He also held the World Championship once in 2020-21.

Meanwhile, Matt Hardy believes Omega could be in the position of being a World Champion again. Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, Hardy also said that Kenny is a good storyteller:

“Do I think he could be in that position again? Of course, I think he’d be a great choice for AEW World Champion. I just think he needs to be utilized as smart as possible, and he’s also a good storyteller from the overall capacity, not just in the ring telling a story in the context within a match, but he is a good storyteller of whatever, a bigger, broader story.”

Matt further claimed that Kenny is much better at storytelling than people think:

“I think he is much better at that than people think, just because he’s so known for working the die hard style like New Japan and just putting on these crazy blockbuster matches.” [H/T WrestlingINC]

Matt Hardy on AEW should use Kenny Omega

In the same podcast, Matt Hardy also reflected on how Kenny Omega’s creative direction in AEW should be. Matt said that Kenny should work with better stories and should be used sparingly to make his presence special:

“I think if he worked smarter with better stories, I think he’d do great in that position, and I think you use him sparingly, like make him seem more special whenever you use him, especially if he’s going out to have a killer match,” said Hardy.
